Police were called to a Doncaster school after pupils celebrating the end of term were responsible for disorder, officers have said.

Officers were called to Hungerhill School in Edenthorpe as year 11 pupils marked the start of the school summer holidays last Friday.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: This afternoon, East Neighbourhood Policing team officers were invited to monitor the scenes outside Hungerhill as the Year 11 pupils left school for the last time, before enjoying a well deserved summer holiday.

“Unfortunately, as with everything, there was a small number of students that did their best to ruin it for everyone else.

"These students have had their details taken and their parents will be informed of today’s behaviour. We appreciate this is an exciting time, but please celebrate sensibly.”
