Moment Doncaster Post Office was wrecked by car ploughing into building

Emergency services have been at Wheatley Hills Stores and Post Office in Wheatley Hills throughout the night and into this morning after the vehicle ploughed into the building in the early hours.
Video footage from the scene shows four police vehicles surrounding the premises and a small group of people standing outside the shop, which is on the corner of Chestnut Avenue and Thorne Road near to The Wheatley Hotel.

Hide AdAt this stage, police have not confirmed the circumstances behind how the vehicle became embedded in the front of the shop.

The Post Office has now been cordoned off while building engineers inspect the premises, which suffered extensive damage, with security shutters and the door to the shop both wrecked in the incident.
We have asked South Yorkshire Police for more details of the incident.
