Dramatic photo shows car embedded in Doncaster Post Office following smash

This was the dramatic aftermath after a Doncaster Post Office was wrecked by a car smashing into the front of the premises in the early hours of this morning.

Police have been at Wheatley Hills Stores and Post Office on Thorne Road, Wheatley Hills following the dramatic smash which has wrecked the front of the building on the corner of Chestnut Avenue.

The vehicle has since been removed from the front of the building, which has now been fenced off.

Photos and videos of the scene show that the vehicle demolished security shutters and through the door of the Post Office, which is situated near to the Wheatley Hotel.

A post box outside the building also appears to have been damaged in the incident.

The building is expected to be sealed off for some time following the smash.

We have asked South Yorkshire Police for more details of the incident.
